Liu Jianchao Meets with Soeung Rathchavy, Cambodian Ambassador to China

Beijing, March 7th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Soeung Rathchavy, Cambodian Ambassador of Cambodia to China.


Liu welcomed Soeung Rathchavy on her assumption of the new post in China. He said, the traditional friendship between China and Cambodia is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. Under the strategic guidance and vigorous promotion of General Secretary Xi Jinping and Cambodian leaders, recent years have witnessed continuous and in-depth development of relations between the two countries. The CPC is willing to strengthen friendly exchanges with the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), deepen experience exchange in state governance and administration, join hands on the road to modernization, enhance friendship between the youths, promote people-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation, and better benefit the two peoples. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Cambodian side to firmly support each other, jointly safeguard the overall situation of China-ASEAN cooperation, and promote regional peace and development. 

Soeung Rathchavy congratulated China on the successful convening of the “Two Sessions”, the annual sessions of the National People's Congress (NPC) and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). She said the Cambodian side firmly believes that under the leadership of the CPC, China will successfully achieve its second centenary goal. The Cambodian side firmly adheres to the one-China principle, and supports the global initiatives proposed by China. It is willing to work with the Chinese side to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen inter-party exchanges, expand cooperation in youth, humanities, tourism and other fields, and push Cambodia-China relations to new heights.
