Beijing, March 15th—Zhao Shitong, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today on the afternoon with Martha A. Mavrommatis, the Ambassador of Cyprus to China.  

Zhao spoke highly of Ambassador Mavrommatis's efforts and contributions to the development of China-Cyprus relations during her tenure. He said, the Chinese side is willing to work with the Cypriot side to continue to deepen political party engagement and exchanges and cooperation in various fields, so as to promote China-Cyprus strategic partnership for stable and long-term development.  

Mavrommatis thanked the IDCPC for the support and assistance during her tenure. She said, the Cypriot side attaches great importance to developing relations with China, and is willing to, together with the Chinese side, further strengthen inter-party exchanges, expand practical cooperation in various fields, and push bilateral relations to a new level. She expressed the willingness to continue to contribute to the development of Cyprus-China relations after leaving her post.
