Singapore, March 26th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Heng Swee Keat, Chairman of the People's Action Party (PAP), Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies of Singapore.  

Liu said, in recent years, under the joint guidance of President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, China-Singapore relations have constantly enjoyed sound development, with two leaps of the positioning of bilateral relations. China-Singapore relations are now standing at a new starting point in history. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Singaporean side to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, improve and upgrade cooperation between the two countries, and bring more benefits to the two peoples. Singapore is a beneficiary of free trade. China and Singapore should jointly promote multilateralism and globalization, oppose decoupling and severing industrial and supply chains and trade protectionism, and maintain the security of global supply and industrial chains. The original aspiration and the mission of the CPC is to seek happiness for the Chinese people and contribute to the cause of progress of the mankind. The CPC is ready to, together with the PAP, strengthen experience exchange and mutual learning in state governance and administration, promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and build a community with a shared future for mankind.  

Heng Swee Keat said, the Singaporean side is satisfied with the sound development momentum of Singapore-China relations. The Singaporean side pays close attention to China's economic and social development and is impressed by the message sent by China's "Two Sessions" of developing new productive forces while continuously attaching importance to the development of traditional industries. Today's world is undergoing many major changes. All countries are facing many new challenges. The Singaporean side is ready to strengthen communication and coordination with the Chinese side, jointly address issues such as aging population, the widening gap between the rich and poor, public health, energy transition, and artificial intelligence, to achieve sustainable development. The PAP is willing to strengthen exchanges and mutual learning with the CPC to push Singapore-China relations and ASEAN-China relations for greater development.
