Zhao Shitong Attends a Thematic Seminar on "Chinese Modernization and China-Germany Practical Cooperation"

Beijing, April 9th—The International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) and the Economic Forum of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) of Germany held here today a thematic seminar on "Chinese modernization and China-Germany practical cooperation". Zhao Shitong, Assistant-minister of the IDCPC and Matthias Machnig, Vice President of the Economic Forum of the SPD, attended and addressed the function. About 50 representatives from the political, business and academic circles of China and Germany attended the meeting and had in-depth discussions.   

Zhao said, Chinese modernization has huge energy and potential, and will bring new impetus to the world and new opportunities for practical cooperation between China and Germany and China and Europe. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of relations between the CPC and the SDP, and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of China-Germany all-round strategic partnership. The Chinese side is willing to take this opportunity to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, enhance mutual trust, establish correct understanding, deepen China-Germany cooperation and inter-party exchanges, and inject stability and positive energy into the turbulent and changing world.   

The German side said, China is an important partner of Germany. In the face of complex changes in geopolitics and economy, the German side is willing to strengthen dialogue and exchanges on the basis of mutual respect, make good use of various platforms such as inter-party exchanges, intensify communication on issues of common concern, promote practical cooperation between the two countries for in-depth development, and jointly respond to global challenges.
