Sun Haiyan Meets with Timothy P. Stratford, Former Assistant United States Trade Representative

Beijing, April 11th—Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today on the morning with Timothy P. Stratford, former Assistant United States Trade Representative and Chairman Emeritus of the American Chamber of Commerce in China. 


Sun said, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-US relations have recently show stable momentum. The economic interests of China and the United States are deeply intertwined. The Chinese side is committed to creating a sound business environment. More US companies are welcome to invest and operate in China to promote respective development and global economic growth. The hope for China-US relations lies in the people. Both sides should further strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges to enhance friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples.  

Timothy P. Stratford said, meeting between the two heads of state in San Francisco boosted the confidence of the US business community in the future of US-China relations. US companies in China welcome China's policies and measures recently introduced to optimize the foreign investment environment, will actively support the two countries in deepening economic and trade cooperation and make more efforts to promote people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
