Song Tao Meets with CPP Vice President and President of the Senate of Cambodia

Beijing, October 25th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Say Chhum, Vice President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and President of the Senate of Cambodia.

Song spoke positively of Say Chhum’s contributions to the development of relations between the two parties and the two countries as well as the friendship between China and Cambodia. Song expressed that under the guidance of leaders of both sides, China-Cambodia relations are at the best in history and the cooperation between the CPC and the CPP has entered a new stage. The CPC is willing to work with the CPP to well implement the consensus reached by leaders of the two sides, carry forward the traditional friendship between China and Cambodia and enhance bilateral exchanges. Both sides should further give full play to our political guidance to bilateral relations and jointly make solid steps to further deepen and steadily move forward cooperation in various fields, in a bid to continuously lend new impetus to the development of China-Cambodia relations.

Say Chhum appreciated China’s long-term and sincere help for Cambodia and spoke highly of the relations between the two Parties and the two countries. Say Chhum expressed that the CPP stands ready to strengthen high-level inter-party exchanges and support the deepening of cooperation between counterpart departments of the two Parties so as to promote party-to-party cooperation for more practical results and elevate the traditional friendship between both countries to a new level.

Guo Jun, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and Liu Hongcai, Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, attended the meeting.
