Paris, December 9th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Carole Bureau-Bonnard, First Vice President of the French National Assembly and member of the national commission of La République En Marche (LREM), the ruling party of France.
Song expressed that in recent years, the two countries have maintained close exchanges at all levels and in various fields and steadily advanced practical cooperation, bringing tangible benefits to the people of both sides. Exchanges between political parties and legislatures are important parts of China-France comprehensive strategic partnership and important channels for promoting exchanges and mutual learning between both countries. Facing the current complicated and ever-changing international situation, the ruling parties of both countries have further strengthened exchange of experience in party governance and state administration, which is conducive to enhancing political mutual trust, promoting bilateral cooperation, and jointly safeguarding multilateralism and the rules-based international order. China is willing to, together with France, further well implement the important consensus reached between the two heads of state, especially, intensify exchanges between political parties, strengthen political guidance to China-France relations, and constantly consolidate the political and public opinion foundation of China-France friendship.
Bureau-Bonnard said that France attaches great importance to France-China relations and stands ready to, together with China, further deepen practical cooperation in various fields, strengthen communication and coordination in international affairs, and jointly promote world peace and development. The LREM is willing to transcend the differences in political systems and actively carry out exchanges and dialogues with China to contribute to consolidating France-China friendship.
