Beijing, March 1st—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation headed by Romenio Pereira, Secretary for International Relations of Workers' Party (PT) of Brazil.
Liu said, China and Brazil are major developing countries and emerging economies with important international influence. At present, both countries constantly deepen political mutual trust, make fruitful results in practical cooperation, and coordinate closely in important international multilateral mechanisms such as the BRICS and the Group of 20, injecting positive energy into the global situation full of uncertainties. China-Brazil relations go beyond the bilateral scope, whose strategic and overall influence becomes increasingly prominent.
Liu said, PT is a political force with important international and regional influence. Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who returned to the Brazilian presidency, is committed to leading Brazil on the path of sustainable and comprehensive development. Sharing similar governance concepts with PT, the CPC is ready to further strengthen high-level and institutionalized exchanges between the two sides, intensify experience exchange in party building and state governance, jointly enrich the path to modernization, and promote the greater development of China-Brazil comprehensive strategic partnership. Liu also introduced relevant situation of the just-concluded Second Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee.
Pereira said, both Brazil and China are major developing countries facing similar tasks and challenges. Pereira firmly believed that under the leadership of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and President Xi Jinping, Brazil and China will further strengthen strategic communication and deepen cooperation in various fields. PT attaches great importance to developing friendly relations with the CPC, and is willing to strengthen online and offline exchanges with the CPC to promote relations between our two countries to a higher level. As an important left-wing force in Latin America, PT hopes to strengthen cooperation with the CPC on platforms such as China-CELAC Political Parties Forum and São Paulo Forum, to promote the development of Latin America-China relations and contribute to world peace and development.
