Liu Jianchao Meets with Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Special Envoy of Cuban President, Member of the Politburo of the PCC Central Committee, Foreign Minister

Beijing, June 7th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Special Envoy of Cuban President, Member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) and Minister of Foreign Affairs.  


Liu said, under the strong leadership of the PCC, the Cuban people reinforced ideals, defied power politics with an indomitable spirit, and resolutely safeguard the interests of Cuba. The Chinese side firmly believes that Cuba will overcome difficulties and continue to achieve new victories in pursuing the cause of socialism with Cuban characteristics. The CPC is willing to work with the PCC to implement the important consensus of the top leaders of the two Parties and the two countries, strengthen exchanges at all levels, enhance exchanges and mutual learning of experience in state governance and administration, promote cooperation in areas such as people's livelihood, give full play to the political leading role of inter-party relations, advance respective cause of socialist construction, and push China-Cuba relations for greater development.  

Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla said, under the leadership of generations of leaders of the two Parties and countries, Cuba-China relations have developed rapidly. Cuba and China share common ideals and beliefs and both adhere to the socialist path. The PCC and Cuban government give priority to developing relations with China and the CPC. He expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for its valuable help and strong support for Cuba's economic and social development and the hope to strengthen cooperation in various fields such as agriculture, renewable energy, investment, and finance. The Cuban side adheres to the one-China principle and opposes all moves to interfere in China’s internal affairs. He voiced full confidence that Cuba, with the support of China and international friendly forces, will continue to move forward along the path of socialist construction. The Cuban side is willing to work with the Chinese side to push the building of a more fair and reasonable international order.
