Vladivostok, June 17th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Paetongtarn Shinawatra, President of the Pheu Thai Party.  

Liu Jianchao said, in November 2022, President Xi Jinping visited Thailand. The two countries announced the building of a China-Thailand community with a shared future in the new era. Next year will mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand. The Chinese side is willing to work with the Thai side to implement the important consensus of the leaders of the two countries, intensify high-level exchanges, deepen political mutual trust, strengthen the docking of development strategies, and expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges.  

Liu Jianchao said, the CPC attaches great importance to friendly exchanges with Thai political parties including the Pheu Thai Party, and is willing to better promote China-Thailand friendly cooperation to enhance friendship between the two peoples through political party exchanges. Calling Thailand an important member of ASEAN, Liu said the Chinese side is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with the Thai side under multilateral mechanisms such as mechanisms between China and ASEAN, to safeguard regional peace and development.  

Paetongtarn Shinawatra said, Thailand and China are one family. The Thai side hopes to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China next year as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with the Chinese side in fields such as economy, trade, investment, agriculture, energy, film and television. Highlighting BRICS countries' increasingly important role on the international stage, she said the Thai side is willing to join the BRICS mechanism as soon as possible and play a greater role in promoting cooperation between BRICS and regional organizations and South-South cooperation. The Pheu Thai Party is willing to strengthen various forms of interaction and exchanges with the CPC.
