Beijing, May 28th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation of the Republican People's Party of Egypt led by Hazem Omar, Chairman of the Republican People's Party and Chairman of the Foreign, Arab, and African Relations Committee in the Senate of Egypt.  

Liu said, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi, the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Egypt has achieved leapfrog development. China is willing to work with Egypt to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen the alignment of development strategies, deepen practical cooperation in various fields, and better benefit the people of both countries. Both China and Egypt are important members of the Global South and are committed to maintaining international fairness and justice and the common interests of developing countries. China is willing to work with Egypt to safeguard the multilateral trading system and inject more certainty and stability into global development. The CPC is willing to strengthen political dialogue with the Republican People's Party, deepen exchanges of ideas and mutual learning of experience, and constantly push the relations between the two countries to a new level. 

Hazem said, Egypt regards China as an important partner and fully supports the major initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping. Egypt highly appreciates China's important role in maintaining world peace and promoting the common development of all countries. Egypt is willing to further deepen cooperation with China in economy, trade, investment, science and technology and other fields, strengthen multilateral coordination, maintain regional security and stability, and promote greater development of bilateral relations. The Republican People's Party looks forward to further deepening friendly and cooperative relations with the CPC and playing an active role in enhancing political mutual trust and people-to-people bonds between the two countries. 

The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on the situation in the Middle East.
