Liu Haixing Meets with a Thai Cross-party Parliamentary Delegation

Beijing, November 4th—Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with a delegation of cross-party members of parliament of Thailand led by Chaiya Promma, a leader of the Pheu Thai Party and First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of Thailand.


Liu said, in 2022, President Xi Jinping paid a historic visit to Thailand and reached important consensus with Thai leaders on building a China-Thailand community with a shared future, which charted the course for the development of bilateral relations. Last week, President Xi Jinping successfully met with Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul during the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, once again emphasizing that China and Thailand are good neighbors, good friends, good relatives, and good partners. The CPC is willing to work with all Thai political parties to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, enhance exchanges at all levels, deepen exchanges of experience in state governance and administration, and promote practical cooperation between the two countries, facilitate youth exchanges and people-to-people bonds through political party channels, so as to push for continuous development of bilateral relations. Liu introduced the spirit of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and said, the plenary session sent a clear and definite signal of China's commitment to opening up, cooperation, and mutual benefit, which brings significant benefits to Thailand and other neighboring countries. China is willing to work hand in hand with Thailand and other neighboring countries to achieve the modernization goal of national prosperity. 

Chaiya said, the friendship between Thailand and China has a long history, and the two countries have achieved fruitful cooperation in various fields. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China. The delegation's visit aims to promote friendly exchanges and cooperation between Thailand and China in areas such as legislation, social governance, and culture, and to jointly consolidate the political foundation of bilateral relations. Thailand congratulates the successful convening of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the adoption of the Recommendations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development. Thailand admires China's rapid economic and social development under the leadership of the CPC, especially the remarkable achievements in poverty alleviation and scientific and technological innovation, making China a leader in the world economy. Thailand is willing to maintain high-level exchanges with China, continuously deepen cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, tourism, and connectivity, and strengthen exchanges at all levels including legislative bodies and political parties.
