Beijing, June 24th—Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Ilyas Moussa Dawaleh, Secretary General of the People's Rally for Progress (RPP) and Minister of Economy, Finance and Industry of Djibouti.

Liu noted, in the nearly half a century since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Djibouti, in the face of changes in the international landscape, the friendship between the two countries has grown ever stronger, with active exchanges and fruitful outcomes from practical cooperation. During the 2024 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), President Xi Jinping and President Ismail Omar Guelleh elevated China-Djibouti relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership and reached important consensus on strengthening the exchange of experience on state governance and administration between the two ruling parties and on guiding cooperation across all sectors through inter-party exchanges. The CPC and the RPP are good brothers, good friends and good partners. Under the new circumstances, the two sides should work together to deliver on the important consensuses reached by the two heads of state, strengthen strategic communication, deepen the exchange of experience in party governance and state governance, enhance youth exchanges, promote cooperation in such areas as trade, investment, think tanks and the media through the "political party+" channel, and help align China's 15th Five-Year Plan with Djibouti’s Vision 2035, as well as advance the building of a China-Djibouti community with a shared future. Liu also briefed the guest on the rich essence and global significance of Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building.

Dawaleh extended his congratulations on the upcoming 105th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, and said that it is precisely thanks to the leadership of the CPC that China has achieved tremendous economic and social development. Each visit to China leaves me deeply impressed. The RPP highly appreciates the CPC's people-centered development philosophy and its experience and practices in strengthening party building. The RPP is ready to further deepen strategic communication and the sharing of experience in party governance and state governance with the CPC, promote cooperation in such areas as trade, industry, sub-national exchanges, youth and public communication, and continue to enrich the substance of the Djibouti-China comprehensive strategic partnership. China's 15th Five-Year Plan aligns closely with the goals of Djibouti’s Vision 2035, and Djibouti is ready to work with China to strengthen development-strategy alignment and better deliver benefits to the two peoples. In today's world of change and turbulence, Djibouti firmly upholds the one-China principle and is ready to work with China to strengthen international cooperation and jointly safeguard regional and global peace and stability.
The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
