Beijing, September 22nd—Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), held a group discussion here today with diplomatic envoys of Arab countries to China. The event was attended by 23 Arab diplomatic envoys to China, including Mohamed Abdellahi El Vilaly, Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps to China and Mauritanian Ambassador to China, as well as the head of the League of Arab States' representative office in China.

Liu said that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Arab states. Not long ago, President Xi Jinping paid a successful visit to Egypt. This is an important diplomatic action by China toward the Arab world and the Middle East this year, which is of major strategic significance for guiding collective cooperation between China and Arab states. President Xi also put forward four proposals for promoting common security in the Middle East. Following his four proposals on maintaining and promoting peace and stability in the Middle East and four principles on advancing the settlement of the Palestinian question, this is another Chinese approach put forward by President Xi to contribute to the lasting peace and stability of the Middle East. China will continue to firmly support Arab states in pursuing independence, self-reliance, unity and strength, and firmly support the just cause of the Palestinian people in restoring their legitimate national rights. China stands ready to strengthen cooperation with Arab states in key areas, build a solid shield for regional security and stability through tangible development benefits, jointly uphold the international system with the United Nations at its core and the international order underpinned by international law, and build a new framework for Middle East governance featuring the participation and concerted efforts of all parties.

Liu said that inter-party exchanges are an important component of China-Arab relations. The CPC is ready to maintain close strategic communication and solidarity with Arab political parties, deepen exchanges of ideas and mutual learning among civilizations, leverage the advantages of the "political parties+" approach to deliver more practical outcomes and livelihood dividends, and promote mutual understanding and engagement among all sectors of the two sides, so as to continuously cement the political, intellectual, value, cooperation and friendship foundations of China-Arab relations. Liu also briefed the diplomatic envoys on Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building.

El Vilaly and other Arab diplomatic envoys to China warmly congratulated the CPC on its 105th anniversary and the People's Republic of China on its 77th anniversary, and spoke highly of the historic achievements China has made in development under the leadership of the CPC. The Arab-China friendship has a long history, and the Arab-China strategic partnership is a model of cooperation built on mutual respect and mutual benefit, as well as a vivid example of advancing dialogue and cooperation among civilizations, of which the Arab side is proud. The Arab side firmly adheres to the one-China principle, highly appreciates major visions and initiatives put forward by President Xi, including building a new security architecture in the Middle East, and thanks China for its long-standing support for the just cause of the Palestinian people and its sustained constructive contribution to safeguarding regional peace and stability, expressing the hope that China will play a greater role in international affairs. The Arab side looks forward to the second China-Arab States Summit and values the friendly relations between political parties and political organizations of Arab states and the CPC, and is ready to deepen all-round cooperation with China and take the building of an Arab-China community with a shared future to a higher level.

Wang Shaofeng, Secretary of the CPC Fengtai District Committee in Beijing, briefed the participants on the district's economic and social development, saying that Fengtai is ready to leverage its strengths in distinctive industries and cultural resources to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Arab states.

Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the IDCPC, presided over the discussion.
