Beijing, April 17th--Xu Lyuping, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee met here today on the morning with the delegation of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) of Namibia headed by Sophia Shaningwa, SWAPO Secretary-General.

Xu expressed that China and Namibia are good friends enjoying profound traditional friendship and treating each other sincerely. The CPC and the SWAPO enjoy close relations. It is hoped that both parties will make joint efforts to well implement the important consensus of the top leaders of both countries, enhance high-level exchanges, and expand cooperation in various fields, so as to push China-Namibia relations to march toward higher levels at a new starting point.

Shaningwa expressed that the long-standing Namibia-China relations are brimming with new vitality as time goes by. Attaching high importance to its relations with the CPC, the SWAPO stands ready to, together with the CPC, strengthen cooperation and enhance understanding, in a bid to promote the relations between the two parties and the two countries for better progress.
