Li Keqiang Meets with General Secretary of the LPRP Central Committee and President of Laos

Beijing, May 31st—Li Keqiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier met here today on the afternoon at Ziguangge of Zhongnanhai with Bounnhang Vorachit, General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and President of Laos.

Li expressed that China and Laos are friendly neighboring countries to each other. Yesterday, General Secretary and President Xi Jinping held fruitful talks with you, promoting relations between the two parties and the two countries to new stages. At present, China and Laos continuously deepen bilateral political mutual trust and actively promote practical cooperation, and we are pleased with this. The Chinese side is willing to respect and support each other with Laos, and continue to enhance the long-term friendship between the two parties and the two countries, so as to join hands to build a community with shared future for the two countries.

Li pointed out that China is willing to cooperate closely with Laos to push forward cooperation in such key areas as transportation infrastructure, agriculture, education and tourism, and jointly advance China-Laos comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership for new progress in various fields and at multiple levels. We support competent and creditworthy Chinese enterprises to invest and develop business in Laos, so as to better realize mutual benefit and win-win results.

Bounnhang noted that Laos and China are comprehensive strategic cooperative partners. The Lao side is pleased with the great development achievements made by the Chinese side, thanks the Chinese side for its sincere help and valuable support for the economic and social development of Laos over a long period of time, and is willing to continue to uphold the "four-good" spirit to promote bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation in infrastructure, agriculture, education, health and other fields, and further intensify exchanges between the people of the two countries, in a bid to facilitate greater and newer results in the relations and cooperation between the two parties and the two countries.
