On the morning of November 19th, the US-China Entrepreneurs Roundtable, co-organized by China Economic Cooperation Center and EastWest Institute, was held in Beijing.
Guo Yezhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, attended the roundtable and delivered a keynote speech. The meeting brings together over 70 attendees from both countries. This includes a delegation of US Democratic and Republican Party leaders, and representatives from local government, think tanks and companies.
Guo pointed out that it's more important to solve the problem of the "trust deficit" than the trade one. It is a fact repeatedly proved by the data that China-US economic and trade cooperation has always been a win-win situation. Chinese and American entrepreneurs need to share responsibility and make the pie of the global economy bigger.
Focusing on the theme of “open, innovative and shared future: opportunities and challenges for China-US economic and trade cooperation in the new era”, and sub-topics as “China-US trade cooperation since the establishment of diplomatic relations 40 years ago,” “innovation and development”, “China-US cooperation at local level and between enterprises,” representatives of both countries had heated discussions and shared the success experience in China-US trade, thus to promote the further conducting of mutually beneficial cooperation, and to eliminate the bilateral trade and economic differences.
The participants agreed that there is still broad space for China-US economic and trade cooperation and that all parties should work together to promote the stable and sound development of bilateral economic and trade relations and jointly safeguard the fundamental well-being of the two peoples.
