Beijing, August 19th—Li Mingxiang, Assistant-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), attended here the opening ceremony of the webinar for cadres of the People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) and delivered a speech via videolink. Li Mingxiang, on behalf of Song Tao, Minister of the IDCPC, congratulated the opening of the webinar. Li Mingxiang said, amid the COVID-19 epidemic, the CPC is willing to continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation with the MPLA, share experience in fighting the epidemic and economic and social development, and work with the Angolan side to implement the outcomes of the Extraordinary China-Africa Summit on Solidarity Against COVID-19, and jointly build a China-Africa community of health for all and an even stronger China-Africa community with a shared future. Li Mingxiang focused on the main content and world significance of the third volume of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China, and exchanged views with the Angolan side on the South China Sea issue and the international situation.
In his speech via videolink, Joaquim Migueis, Member of the Central Committee of the MPLA and Member of the National Assembly of Angola, spoke highly of China’s achievements in fighting the epidemic and its contributions to promoting international cooperation in the fight against the epidemic. his sincerely thanked General Secretary Xi Jinping for proposing the significant measure of helping Africa fight the epidemic at the Extraordinary China-Africa Summit on Solidarity Against COVID-19 and other occasions. his said, this webinar is an innovation in the exchanges and cooperation between the two Parties, which will further strengthen the relations between the two Parties and help the MPLA better respond to the challenges of epidemic prevention and control and boosting the economy. The Angolan side will adhere to the basic norms of international relations and work with China to maintain world peace, stability and security.
The webinar lasted for 3 days, and was attended by more than 20 middle and high ranking cadres from the MPLA. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on topics including playing the leading role of the ruling party in fighting the epidemic, coordinating epidemic prevention and control with economic and social development, carrying out international cooperation in epidemic prevention and control, and poverty alleviation.
