Beijing, January 24th—Li Mingxiang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today on the morning with Moha Mohammed Hussein Mohammed Bahr AlUloom, Deputy Foreign Minister of Iraq.
Li said, in recent years, under the care and guidance of the leaders of the two countries, China-Iraq relations have developed steadily with fruitful results of cooperation in various fields. The CPC is willing to strengthen friendly exchanges with all political parties of Iraq and boost the development of strategic partnership between the two countries.
AlUloom said, the Iraqi government firmly supports the one-China principle. The Iraqi side appreciates the Chinese side fair stance on regional issues such as the Palestinian question, and hopes to strengthen coordination and cooperation with the Chinese side to promote peace and security in the region at an early date. The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs will support friendly exchanges and cooperation between the political parties of the two countries as always.
