Beijing, September 2nd—Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Adrian Nastase, former Prime Minister of Romania and President of Titulescu European Foundation.

Sun welcomed Nastase to attend the events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War in China, and positively evaluated Nastase's important contributions to promoting China-Romania relations over the years. She emphasized that after proposing the three global initiatives, General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed the Global Governance Initiative for the first time. China is willing to work with friendly people from all walks of life in Romania to carry forward the traditional friendship between the two countries, promote the steady and long-term development of the China-Romania comprehensive friendly cooperative partnership in the new era, jointly safeguard the fruits of the victory in World War II, and promote the building of a more just and reasonable global governance system.

Nastase highly spoke of the historic achievements made by China in economic and social development since the beginning of the new era, saying that the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression made significant contributions to the World Anti-Fascist War, and the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind and the four global initiatives proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping have profound practical significance. China has become an irreplaceable important force in maintaining world fairness and justice. The Titulescu European Foundation is willing to play an active role and make more efforts to promote the development of Romania-China relations and Europe-China relations.

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
