Beijing, September 19th—Lu Kang, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Elly Lawson, Deputy Secretary of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The two sides exchanged views on China-Australia relations and international issues of common interest. Scott Dewar, Australian Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, attended the meeting.
Both sides agreed that a good China-Australia relationship is in the fundamental interests of the two countries and the two peoples. They agreed that both sides should further strengthen cooperation in economy, trade, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and climate change response, to promote the continued and positive development of China-Australia relations.
