Beijing, November 4th—Chen Zhou, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Yasushi Kudo, Representative from the Genron NPO of Japan and Chairman of the Japanese Executive Committee of the Beijing-Tokyo Forum.

Chen said, on the sidelines of the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, President Xi Jinping met with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi upon request, during which he comprehensively elaborated on China’s principled position on China–Japan relations. At present, China–Japan relations face both opportunities and challenges. It is hoped that Japan will uphold trust and handle major issues of principle, including those related to Taiwan, in accordance with the spirit of the four political documents between China and Japan, thus safeguarding the political foundation of China-Japan relations. Political and business leaders from both countries and people of insight from all walks of life should enhance exchanges and explore solutions to the deep-seated contradictions in China–Japan relations. Chen also specifically introduced the spirit of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee.
Yasushi Kudo thanked Chen for the briefing on the plenary session. He said that promoting world stability and development cannot be achieved without cooperation with China, and that Japan should re-recognize the significance of developing Japan-China relations from a global perspective. The Genron NPO of Japan is willing to strengthen cooperation with the IDCPC to create conditions for more strategic communication between the political leaders of the two countries.
