IDCPC Delegation Visits Romania

From November 25th to 26th, Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), led an IDCPC delegation to visit Romania. Sun met with Simona Bucura-Oprescu, Deputy to the Social Democratic Party of Romania (PSD) and President of the PSD Women's Organization; Hajdu Gábor, Deputy to the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies; Cosmin Corendea, Member of National Leadership Council of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians and President of Parliamentary friendship group with China, and other group members; and Mihai Jurca, Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Romania. Sun attended a symposium on China's development plan and opportunities for China-Romania cooperation, which was joined by over 60 representatives from political parties, think tanks, media, and friendly organizations, including Viorica Dancila, President of the Romanian–Chinese House and former Prime Minister of Romania and Adrian Severin, former Deputy Prime Minister and former Foreign Minister of Romania.   


Sun said, Romania was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and Romania have always respected each other and treated each other as equals. China is a traditional friendly country of Romania, and the CPC attaches great importance to its friendly exchanges with Romanian political parties. China hopes to promote the in-depth development of the comprehensive friendly cooperative partnership between China and Romania through inter-party exchanges and cooperation. The fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee has drawn up a blueprint for China's development in the next five years, which will bring more development opportunities to Romania and other countries around the world. 

The Romanian side said they followed closely the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the Recommendations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development, believing that China's future development will bring opportunities for cooperation between the two countries. Oprescu said, the two countries have a deep-rooted traditional friendship, and the PSD has long been committed to promoting friendly cooperation between Romania and China. As a member of the ruling coalition, the PSD hopes to promote exchanges between the youth, women, and localities of the two Parties and continue to make positive contributions to the development of bilateral relations. Hajdu said, the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania values its friendly relations with the CPC and is willing to strengthen exchanges of experience in state governance and administration and promote friendly exchanges between the political parties and legislative bodies of the two countries. Corendea and others noted, members of the Friendship Parliamentary Group with China come from the main political parties in the parliament and are willing to actively exert their influence and continue to promote cooperation in various fields between the two countries through multiple channels. Jurca said, the current coalition government hopes to attract more investment to promote the economic development of Romania and is willing to create more favorable conditions for Chinese enterprises to invest in Romania and promote result-oriented practical cooperation in various fields between the two countries.
