Yan'an, September 9th—Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a multi-party delegation from Sri Lanka, composed of representatives from the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, the United National Party and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.

Sun said that in January last year, President Xi Jinping held an important meeting with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, charting a new blueprint for the development of China-Sri Lanka relations. The CPC is ready to work with political parties of Sri Lanka, taking the important consensus of the two heads of state as strategic guidance, to maintain close exchanges at all levels, deepen exchanges of experience on state governance and administration, and play an active role in jointly building a China-Sri Lanka community with a shared future. Sun also briefed the delegation on Xi Jinping Thought on Party Building centering on full and rigorous self-governance of the party.
Representatives of Sri Lankan political parties said that Sri Lanka-China friendship is enduring and solid, and expressed heartfelt gratitude for China's valuable support for Sri Lanka's economic and social development. Friendship with China is a consensus shared by all Sri Lankan political parties. They expressed the hope to further strengthen inter-party exchanges and cooperation, learn from China's successful experience in party building, social governance and youth work, promote Sri Lanka's national development and people's well-being, and further deepen Sri Lanka-China friendship.
