On June 28th, Michel Temer, President of Brazil, met at the presidential palace with Yang Xiaodu, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and Director of National Supervisory Commission.
Yang conveyed President Xi Jinping’s warm greetings to Michel Temer. He expressed that the diplomatic relations between China and Brazil, established 44 years ago, have witnessed fruitful cooperation outcomes in various fields, becoming mature and stable relations between major developing countries. In recent years, President Xi Jinping has met with Mr. President for multiple times, opening up new prospects for the development of China-Brazil relations in a new period. China stands ready to work with Brazil to well implement the important consensus reached by leaders of the two countries to promote bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership for constant and in-depth development. The CPC is willing to build a new type of political party relations featuring the pursuit for common ground and reservation of differences, mutual respect and mutual learning, and provide impetus for respective national building, in a bid to push common development. He also mainly briefed the Brazilian side on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and presented the Portuguese version of Xi Jinping: The Governance of China.
Temer asked Yang to convey his sound wishes for President Xi Jinping. He noted that Brazil pays high attention to developing relations with China, and welcomes more Chinese-funded enterprises to participate in the Investment Partnerships Program of Brazil to promote bilateral practical cooperation for optimization and upgrade. Brazil supports its political parties in deepening exchanges and mutual learning with the CPC to facilitate the constant and steady development of bilateral relations.
Upon the invitation of the Party of the Brazilian Democratic Movement (PMBD), Yang led a CPC delegation to visit Brazil from June 28th to 30th. During the visit, Yang also held talks respectively with Romero Jucá, President of the PMBD, and Wagner Rosário, Minister of Transparency and Comptroller General of the Union, as well as had exchanges with representatives of political parties including the Workers’ Party, the Communist Party and the Socialist Party.
