We have all gathered in this Symposium for a hearty observance of the Founding Centenary of the CPC at such a point of historical juncture of the contemporary world when the world is trembling with the waves of Covid-19 pandemic. Through the virulent natural-virus that had emerged in 2019, the people of the world including Bangladesh have experienced that under the strong leadership of the CPC with Comrade Xi Jinping with the sprite of good governance at its care and through hard work, dedication, and sacrifices - the entire Chinese nation has attained strategic achievements in controlling the Corona virus and earned victory over the Corona War. For this phenomenal success, we offer our heartfelt congratulations to you and the peoples of China for reinforcing vitality to the Marxist philosophy.

The founding of CPC is a bright opportunity to the Chinese Nation and masses. The emergence of the Communist Party of China was an epoch making event in the history of China. After its founding in 1921, the Party took a lead in meeting the demand of the time - firmly relying on, closely uniting with and leading the people of all ethnic groups to write an epic in the history of human civilization and development on the civilized land since ancient time - China. With the passage of time, it has been proved that CPC has always strived hard for ensuring both wellbeing of Chinese people and progress of the humanity in broad spectrum. CPC’s abiding mission is to make newer and greater contributions towards the welfare of the human kind. So, Chinese Communist Party has been one of the limelight of socialist movement around the world constantly flaming the revolutionary torch even as in the collapse of Soviet Union for the last 100 years. It has been proved that history of the Chinese Communist Party since its emergence is a continuously adopting and innovating Marxism in the context of China.

After the victory in the anti Japanese war, Comrade Mao Zedong tried to establish the united government. But Chiang Kai Sheik did not agree and dragged the country into civil war. CPC leadership had taken different tactics and policies to achieve victory over Kuomintang and Comrade Mao Zedong finally defeated Chiang Kai Sheik. If Comrade Mao Zedong had not defeated Chiang Kai Sheik, then the fate of the Chinese people might have been like that of the South Asians. After the overthrow the Kuomintang government Chairman Mao declared to the world about the founding of the new China on the 1st October 1949 in Tiananmen Square, Beijing and finally announced “ China had stood up.” The victory of Chinese revolution and the birth of PRC fundamentally changed the Chinese nation as it emerged from slavery and exploitation. New China is the greatest contribution of the CPC for the Chinese nation.

After rehabilitating the national economy in newly born nation within the space of two years the CPC decided to turn China towards socialist construction. Through explorations and innovations CPC led masses in finding the road of building socialism that suited best to the China’s specific conditions. Step by step the socialist industrialization was to be carried out involving socialist reform of agriculture, handicrafts and capitalist industry and commerce. However the CPC accumulated important experiences in building socialism in a country with a fairly low level social productivity. But the CPC leadership was very assertive to continue the socialist constructions facing and experiencing many twists and turns. By this way, the policy of containment and isolation against China practiced by the USA for many years had met a thorough defeat and socialist reconstruction was in progress in a sustainable way. This laid a solid foundation for the CPC to go ahead and carry out the cause of reform and opening up further development of China and the rest of the world.

On the Third Plenary Session of the CPC of the 11th Central Committee, the focus of work was placed on the construction of socialist modernization and the policy of reform and opening up was formulated. Upholding and developing socialism with Chinese characteristic, the CPC realize a great change of the socialist modernization drive. The CPC leadership had decided to engage to socialist and market economic construction and socialism with Chinese characteristics. The socialist market economy is a new concept in the history of Marxist economy which was innovated by the Deng Xiao Ping. So, in a creative way, the CPC leadership has always developed the Marxism and gone forward to socialist modernization and successfully facing international financial crises, serious natural disasters, advancing the socialist developments. The Party has been constantly winning new victories in building a moderately prosperous society.

After more than four decades – reform, China entered a brand-new period of development aiming to upgrading of economic strength and ensuring rapid shift in the mode of economic development. The goal is to complete the process of building a moderately well-off society in all aspects and making society more harmonious and people’s life much improved. With the rapid changes occurring in democratic and world situation, China has entered in an era with full of potentials for generating new one, an era in urgent need of innovative thought and capable of generating new ideas. The CPC central committee under the leadership of Comrade Xi Jinping at the core has carried out theoretical innovation on the basis of practice and proposed a set of new concepts, new ideas and new strategies concerning the governance of China, constituting Xi Jinping’s thought is the innovation of Marxism in localize form in the contemporary world.

On the basis of Xi Jinping’s far-sighted visions and thoughts which has reflected in his speech and Chinese people have made a strategic achievement in combating Covid-19 Corona War which has drawn wide attention of the international community. This reflects the people centered philosophy which is very vital issue for the up-coming world order. Moreover, under the leadership of Comrade Xi Jinping Chinese people had finally won the historic battle against the poverty by 2020. China’s achievement in poverty alleviation has been acclaimed by personages from political parties around the world as “a miracle in the history of human development.” The world is going through pandemic and global changes. So, this Marxist symposium will contribute to accelerate the Marxist political parties around the world must uphold the Marxist stance, view points and methodology in understanding and reshaping the world so that we could meet the challenges of the development of the human society.

The beauty of Chinese leadership is that they could grasp the dynamics of contradictions as to how Comrade Xi Jinping is visualizing about the upcoming economic development of China and the world and is giving importance to connectivity. With this perspective he has formulated Belt and Road Initiative with the combination of Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Rout to promote trade and investment and improve the business environment. The Belt and Road Initiative is becoming a reality and bearing rich fruits. This initiative potentially has become a model of cooperation for meeting challenges through solidarity, a model of recovery for restoring economic and social activities and a model of growth for those who are lacking development potentials. This will lead all countries to common prosperity and open up bright prospects for enhancing the wellbeing common for the humanity, which in turn, will ensure a brighter tomorrow. This is also a very vital contribution of Comrade Xi Jinping to enhance global trade and business. At the same time, China has made historic progress in its development in becoming the largest economy in the world, which will also lead China to be regarded as the source of comprehensive development and cooperation for the world.

For sustaining institutional development and establish the rules of laws for comprehensive institutional function. Comrade XI has reformed open-up policy in deeper way and has formulated governance system both for national and global perspective. With this process - Chinese unique development model may be more flourishing, and new world order may be emerging. Western model works for more than three hundred years and that model gradually declines and turns ineffective. On the contrary, Chinese model is functioning in an impressive way. The world has experienced the victory of Chinese government over Covid-19 pandemic, poverty elimination from the Chinese society including Tibet. We believe, by implementing Comrade Xi Jinping’s thought, China is to become the number-one economic giant in the world and will contribute to the humanity significantly by building a harmonious world aiming to build up a community of shared future for mankind. On the basis of Comrade Xi Jinping thought the World Marxist Movement will gain momentum and socialist movement will reshape itself with new outburst.
