Beijing, November 23rd—The International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) held here today a briefing on the spirit of the sixth plenary session of 19th CPC Central Committee for political parties of Arab States via video link. Over 40 leaders of nearly 30 political parties from more than ten Arab States, including Salah Adli, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Egypt, Hanna Gharib, General Secretary of of Lebanon's Communist Party, were present.
Song Tao, Minister of the IDCPC, comprehensively briefed on the plenary session and the great historical significance of the resolution adopted at the session. He mainly elaborated the establishment of Comrade Xi Jinping’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole and defined the guiding role of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, which carries decisive significance for driving forward the historic process of national rejuvenation. Song said, over the past 100 years, the CPC has always stayed true to its founding mission, put the people first, advanced theoretical innovation, led the Chinese people in the great struggles, added new dimensions to Marxism and met people’s expectation for a better life. The session reviewed why the CPC was successful in the past and how it can continue to succeed in the future, and will surely have great and far-reaching significance for advancing socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
Song said, the CPC is a political party that strives for both the wellbeing of the Chinese people and for the advancement of humankind, and has always focused on the destiny of mankind from a global perspective. The CPC is willing to, together with political parties of Arab States, deepen strategic communication and exchanges on state governance and administration, practice a people-centered development philosophy, promote our cooperation in governing the Party with strict discipline, combating the COVID-19, and building the Belt and Road Initiative with high quality, continue to support each other on core interests and major concerns, resolutely safeguard international fairness and justice, practice true multilateralism, oppose unilateralism, protectionism, hegemony and power politics and jointly build a community with a shared future for mankind.
Leaders of the political parties of Arab states warmly congratulated the successful convening of the sixth plenary session, and believed that the resolution adopted at the session carries great guiding significance for China to set out on a new journey towards the Second Centenary Goal of building a modern socialist country. The CPC led the Chinese people to successfully blazed a trail of modernization with Chinese characteristics, greatly expanding the ways for developing countries to realize modernization, and bringing new choices for countries and nations which hope to accelerate development while maintaining independence. They highly admired China’s remarkable achievements made under the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core since the 18th CPC National Congress, and believed that Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is a new breakthrough in adapting Marxism to the Chinese context. A community with a shared future for mankind put forward by General Secretary Xi Jinping is a critical contribution to the world’s development. Political parties of Arab States are ready to maintain close exchanges with the CPC, learn from CPC’s experience in state governance and administration, deepen practical cooperation in poverty alleviation, common prosperity and the Belt and Road cooperation, jointly champion multilateralism and make contributions to world peace and development.
