Ladies and gentlemen,

When I left the Czech Republic, in my city Olomouc has started Month of Chinese Culture. My city is lucky, because Olomouc is home to the only one Confucius Institute in the Czech Republic.

The founder of the Confucius Academy is Palacky University in cooperation with Beijing Foreign Studies University. In addition to teaching the Chinese language, it is also engaged in the popularization of Chinese culture for professionals and the general public. Nevertheless, I have a feeling that China is seen by Europeans as something very unusual and exotic.

The idea of the Economic belt puts before us a challenge of economic  issue, but also cultural issue. Global Future commits us to build international partnerships that will shape tomorrow’s business landscape. I believe that mutual cultural insight is the basis for the formation of looking at the face of future business.

Global business is the opportunity to obtain foreign clients and economic growth. It is also a challenge for building international teams of employees with specialization on Sino-European market. Employees capable of understanding the differences between the Chinese and European market in the economic strategies as well as understanding the cultural differences in everyday life and working habits.

The long term success of Sino-European partnership depends on our youth - European and Chinese students. Study and internships abroad is a unique opportunity to gain experience with foreign cultures and customs. Working experience in foreign companies may be beneficial for the company itself.

The politicians´ task is to help building students’ Chinese and European business acumen and knowledge as well as helping students establish personal and professional networks in China and Europe. This task we should try to carry through into the education strategy. At the same time, we should promote regional and municipal partnerships between Europe and China.

We have before us unique chance to strengthen the economic growth of our countries and give  people more employment opportunities.

    我从捷克出发来中国时，在我的家乡奥洛穆茨，中国文化月已经拉开帷幕。我的家乡非常幸运地成为了捷克唯一一家孔子学院的所在地，它是由帕拉茨基大学和北京外国语大学合作建立的。除了教授中文，孔子学院还积极地在汉学家和普通捷克民众中传播中国文化。尽管如此，我仍然感觉到，中国在许多欧洲人眼中还是一个非常神秘的国度。

    丝绸之路经济带的建设，不仅是个经济议题，同时也是文化议题。人类命运共同体要求我们建立能够塑造未来商业模式的跨国合作关系。我相信，文化上的相互了解是展望未来商业合作的基础。

    中欧关系的长远发展要靠欧洲和中国的青年学生来实现。海外的学习或工作经历会为他们带来对别国文化习俗的独特体会。吸收外国员工也会能造福于企业。政治家应当培养青年学生对中欧商业合作的敏锐嗅觉，增进他们对中欧商业合作的了解。这一目标的实现，既有赖于相应的教育政策，也要靠中欧地方合作的进一步深化。
