According to an important working method emphasized by General Secretary Xi Jinping, in reform, we need to abolish the old and establish the new. Only when we work in line with the rules underlying reform can we yield twice the result with half the effort. We should differentiate priorities, focus on work of decisive significance to reform, development and stability of the region, rather than dealing with problems regardless of their importance.
In our work, we must take the overall situation into consideration, and prioritize the tasks. At present, China’s reform has entered a deep water zone, which involves various aspects and comes with great difficulty. The more complex and complicated the situation is, the more we need to think clearly, stick to the right direction, and focus on the key issues. While distributing effort can be hard to ensure all-round development, we can start from solving one issue. It is necessary to prioritize the tasks, pay attention to the timing, resolve major problems and the main aspect of these problems, focus on key areas and critical links to ensure a scientifically formulated reform roadmap, driving reform deeper and further.
Work should be done in line with the realities and in a practical manner. China has a vast territory and large population. The resource endowments and development levels of different regions of the country vary greatly, and the key tasks and difficulties of development are also different. This requires us to proceed from the realities instead of working blindly and recklessly in a rush to introduce new policies and measures. We should follow the spirit and specific reform plans of the CPC Central Committee and carefully study the actual situation in the region to determine the strategic goals and set the priorities. We should make concrete efforts, deliver solid outcomes, and take effective measures in a targeted, coordinated, and continuous manner to achieve fruitful results from key areas to overall development.
To deepen the reform in all areas, we should work in a planned and orderly manner. Focusing on the central task, we must make breakthroughs when making all-round progress, which facilitates leapfrog development in economy and society, so as to help build a great country and contribute to national rejuvenation.
