Further deepening reform comprehensively is a complex and systematic undertaking, encompassing a wide range of areas, numerous details, and significant tasks. It is a consistent requirement of General Secretary Xi Jinping, and it is also key to ensuring that reform efforts in all areas form a synergistic force.
The concerted efforts of reform measures across various sectors and aspects necessitate a keen focus on the systematic interplay among these measures. Currently, China’s reform has entered a deep water zone, where reform measures of different sectors are interconnected. Reform measures of one area can influence that of other areas, and necessitate close cooperation from other fields. Therefore a holistic approach is vital to prevent different sides from holding each other back and ensure the effective implementation of reform measures.
All sectors must strive together with shared aspirations and make concerted efforts. Over 300 significant reform steps were introduced at the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. Various regions and departments should implement these measures with a comprehensive perspective and systematic approach, focus on the overall objectives and tasks of different stages, and better coordinate reform measures.
All sectors must find the starting point and be clear of the goal of the reform efforts. Regions and departments need to enhance policy communication and coordination, fulfill their roles without only considering their own interests. Moreover, they should not selectively implement policies based on their own interests.
By thoroughly understanding the requirement of reform, conducting thorough research into the interrelationships among reforms in various sectors and coordinating reform measures of different sectors, our reform efforts can better serve Chinese modernization and constantly meet people’s growing needs for a better life.
