General Secretary Xi's important speech, with a strategic perspective, broad vision and far-reaching thoughts, has charted the course and provided a fundamental guideline for us to carry out this campaign.
History is the best teacher. Our Party has always attached importance to the learning and education of Party history, focusing on inspiring the fighting spirit and pointing out the progressing direction through the Party's struggle and great achievements. Our Party has strengthened its conviction and pooled its strength through the Party's glorious traditions and fine style, and enlightened its wisdom and sharpened its character through the Party's practices, creations and historical experience. Since the 18th CPC National Congress, the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has attached great importance to the learning of the Party's history and put forward a series of requirements. At the important moment of celebrating the centennial birthday of our Party, and at the critical juncture when the two centenary goals converge, it is timely and necessary for the whole Party members to focus on the learning and education of Party history. We must fully realize that the Party’s history is a rich and vivid textbook and the most epic chapter in Chinese history since modern times. We should cherish the history of the Party, study it in depth attentively, publicize its history in an all-round way, and give full play to its role of learning from history and educating people.
The centenary of our Party has been a century of unswervingly fulfilling our original missions, a century of plowing arduously and laying a solid foundation, and a century of creating brilliant achievements and opening up the future. In the continuous struggle of the past one hundred years, the Party has led the people to create a great history, forged great spirits and accumulated valuable experience. The Chinese nation has made a great leap forward: it has stood up, grown rich and become strong. It has created a great miracle in the history of Chinese national development and the progress of human society. Looking back at the struggle in the past and looking forward to the road ahead, we must study and summarize the Party's history and carry forward its successful experience. We must fully realize that launching the campaign of Party history learning and education among all the Party members is an inevitable requirement for keeping in mind the original aspiration and mission and promoting the historical cause of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, for strengthening faith and upholding and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, and for promoting the self-revolution of the Party and maintaining its vitality forever.
“From the mirror we learn about ourselves; from the past we learn about the future.” Thus, studying history is to better move towards the future. Party committees (Party groups) at all levels should conscientiously study and understand the principles and morals of General Secretary Xi's important speech, strengthen our consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core, and keep in alignment with the central Party leadership; stay confident in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics; and uphold General Secretary Xi’s core position on the Party Central Committee and in the Party as a whole, and uphold the Party Central Committee’s authority and its centralized, unified leadership, so as to make improvements in ideological understanding and political position, and do a good job in the education of their own departments and organizations. We must learn from history to be reasonable and confident, respect morality, put historical wisdom into practice, and guide our Party members and cadres to continuously improve their political judgment, political understanding and political execution. China’s 100-year journey surges forward with great momentum, and its original aspiration remains even firmer today. The fundamental reason is our Party’s adherence to the original aspiration and mission of seeking happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation from the founding of the People's Republic of China to the earth-shaking reform and opening up, and to the historic achievements and changes in the cause of the Party and the country since the 18th CPC National Congress. By focusing on the learning and education of Party history throughout the whole Party, we can better sum up historical experience, understand historical laws, master historical initiatives, inherit the red gene, bear in mind our original aspirations and missions, and adhere to the correct direction, so as to better learn and understand Xi Jinping Though on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
