"Efforts should be made to deliver services to the people and resolve their difficulties." At the Party History Study and Education Mobilization Meeting, General Secretary Xi Jinping charted the course for the fundamental priority of the Party history learning and education. He stressed efforts should be made to combine Party history learning with summing up experience, respond to reality, advance daily work and solve practical problems, and ensure the success of practical activity with the theme of "delivering services for the people".
Over the past century, the Communist Party of China has been down-to-earth and delivering services to the people. The Party led the people in the revolution, construction, and reform and in the fight against floods, earthquakes and the epidemic. The Party has been overcoming difficulties all along and remains fully committed to benefiting the people’s livelihood. While doing practical work is the strongest evidence, people’s hearts are the biggest political power. It is because of sticking to credible actions, attaching great importance to practical work and continuously solving problems of pressing public concern that our Party always wins the broadest support from the people and lead them in creating miracle upon miracle.
As a Chinese saying goes, knowledge is the beginning of action, whereas action is the completion of knowledge. To carry out Party history learning and education, we must stay committed to our original aspiration and mission by looking back at the past 100 years, remain committed to the principle of serving the people wholeheartedly and further promote the fine conduct of doing practical work, seeking practical results and creating practical achievements. Through Party history learning and education, the whole Party upholds its commitment to the people, remains committed to serving the people and relying on the people in all endeavours, takes the aspirations of the people to live a better life as the focus of its efforts. The Party must be clear on the question of who we are, who we represent, and who we rely on. The learning outcomes should be transformed into the efficiency and motivation of our work. In this way, our Party can further win people’s trust and support and solidify its close ties with the people.
As a Chinese proverb says, "the person that knows a leaking roof is found indoors; the person that knows a political error is found out in the wild." The Party history learning and education cannot be done with our doors closed. Neither should it be a one-man show. Instead, we are supposed to focus on the public concern and make solid efforts to solve prominent issues that are strongly concerned about by people. Only by lending an ear to the people at the grassroots and going deep among the masses and into the thick of life can we fully understand their concerns, expectations and worries. Only then can we identify the problems and disparities, have a clear direction for improvement, and bridge the gap between the education and practical work. Additionally, in order to promote more practical work for the sake of the people, we ought to figure out not only what they think and expect, but also their pressing concerns and difficulties. Furthermore, we should go to where the masses need us the most to settle their problems and go to the most underdeveloped places to bring about positive changes. We should open the channels for heeding people’s concerns and soliciting their opinions, learn about their needs, and seek their advice, thus making decisions that can better correspond to the wishes and interests of the people and making the Party history learning and education more effective.

While carrying out the Party history learning and education, we must draw courage and strength from the Party history, carry forward the spirit of responsibility and have the courage to tackle the toughest problems. Lots of hard nuts and great difficulties await us on the new journey to build a modern socialist country in all respects. Party members and cadres should renew the spirit of doing practical work, further promote the fine conduct of being strict, practical and down-to-earth, carry the heaviest and most difficult burdens and be more meticulous like doing embroidery work. Moreover, Party members and cadres ought to do more practical work so as to boost confidence, keep people’s spirits up, and rally popular support.
