Beijing, April 21stLiu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with a delegation of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) led by Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Secretary General of the BNP and Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives of Bangladesh. 


Liu congratulated Bangladesh on the smooth and successful completion of its general election, saying that China and Bangladesh share a profound traditional friendship. China has always placed Bangladesh in an important position in its neighborhood diplomacy and supported the new Bangladeshi government in its smooth governance and its greater role in international and regional affairs. Calling inter-party relations an important component of China-Bangladesh relations, he said the CPC attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with the BNP. He expressed China's willingness to strengthen institutionalized exchanges between the two Parties, deepen exchanges of experience in state governance and administration, and promote practical cooperation in various fields through the "political party+" platform, thereby continuously advancing the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Bangladesh and better benefiting the people of both countries. Liu also briefed on the CPC's efforts to strengthen party building and China's 15th Five-Year Plan. 


Alamgir conveyed Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's sincere greetings and best wishes to the CPC and the Chinese people. Calling China a reliable partner and friend of Bangladesh, he expressed gratitude for China's long-term and valuable support. The new Bangladeshi government is committed to consolidating and deepening its friendship with China, firmly adheres to the one-China principle, and is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, as well as cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, culture, and energy transformation, and enhance communication and coordination on international and regional affairs, so as to continuously promote the development of Bangladesh-China relations. The BNP looks forward to strengthening institutionalized exchanges with the CPC, and learning from the CPC's experience in state governance to achieve Bangladesh's national development and revitalization.
