Beijing, April 9--Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) met here today on the morning with Victoire Tomegah-Dogbé, Cabinet Director and the delegation of the Union for the Republic (UNIR) of Togo headed by her.
Song expressed that China and Togo enjoy profound a traditional friendship, and have always respected and supported each other since the establishment of diplomatic relations. In 2016, General Secretary Xi Jinping and visiting Chairman of the UNIR and President Faure Gnassingbe of Togo jointly drew the blueprint of strengthening friendly cooperation between China and Togo. The CPC is willing to work with the UNIR to jointly well implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two parties and two countries, reinforce high-level party-to-party exchanges and communication as well as deepen exchanges and cooperation between cadres and experience communication on party governance and state administration, in a bid to better give play to the political guiding role of party-to-party relations to China-Togo relations. Song also introduced the CPC’s experience in leading reform and opening-up and exploring a development path with Chinese characteristics.
Dogbé expressed that relations between the two parties and two countries have always been based on openness and mutual respect, which greatly benefits the Togolese people. Hoping to further develop friendly relations with the CPC, Chairman Faure and the UNIR deeply admire the huge development achievements of China and the trust of Chinese people as well as the respect from the people in the world under the leadership of the CPC. They expect to learn from China’s development mode and the CPC’s experience in comprehensively leading reform, development and stability.
