Nay Pyi Taw, November 6th--Aung San Suu Kyi, Leader of National League for Democracy and State Counsellor of Myanmar, met here today with Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.

Song said that China and Myanmar are friendly neighboring countries. Highly valuing the development of China-Myanmar relations, the Chinese side hopes that both sides will enhance the construction of China-Myanmar Economic Corridor under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, and expand practical cooperation in various fields, so as to better benefit the two peoples. The CPC is willing to deepen its exchanges and cooperation with the National League for Democracy of Myanmar, so as to promote China-Myanmar relations for sound development.

Aung San Suu Kyi expressed that the Myanmar side treasures Myanmar-China friendship, thanks the Chinese side for its selfless help, and stands ready to accelerate the cooperation in major projects between the two countries, intensify exchanges between ruling parties and promote the development of bilateral relations.

Song also met with leaders of the Union Solidarity and Development Party and military leaders on separate occasions.
