Song Tao Meets with DISY Delegation of Cyprus

Beijing, November 26th—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with the delegation of the Democratic Rally (DISY) from Cyprus led by Vice President Nicos Nouris.

Song expressed that though China and Cyprus are far away from each other, the two countries enjoy profound traditional friendship. At present, political mutual trust between the two sides has been constantly enhanced, and practical cooperation in various fields has achieved new outcomes. Bilateral inter-party exchanges have been playing an important role in promoting China-Cyprus relations. The CPC is willing to further strengthen friendly exchanges with the DISY, intensify high-level exchanges, enhance mutual learning, boost practical cooperation in various fields under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative in joint efforts, and inject fresh impetus into the development of China-Cyprus relations through the new outcomes of inter-party exchanges.

Song also introduced Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.

Nouris noted that Cyprus and China have maintained friendly relations, and friendly exchanges between the DISY and the CPC have been increasingly reinforced. Cyprus speaks highly of China’s development achievements under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and stands ready to further deepen inter-party exchanges, and promote the two countries to achieve more outcomes in cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative through inter-party channels.
