Dacca, March 22nd—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, held here today a group meeting with leaders of left-wing political parties including Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Secretary General of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party; GM Quader, Co-chairman of the Bangladesh Jatiya Party; Dilip Barua, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (Marxist–Leninist); Fazle Hossain Badsh, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Bangladesh; Hasanul Haq Inu, President of the National Socialist Party; Mujahidul Islam Selim, President of the Communist Party of Bangladesh.
Song said that since President Xi Jinping's successful visit to Bangladesh in October 2016, China-Bangladesh strategic cooperative partnership has made continuous progress, which cannot be achieved without the joint efforts of all political parties in Bangladesh. China is ready to continue to strengthen friendly exchanges and cooperation with all political parties in Bangladesh, promote the building of a new type of political party relationship featuring seeking common ground while shelving differences, mutual respect and mutual learning, and jointly promote China-Bangladesh relations and pragmatic cooperation between the two countries under the Belt and Road Initiative so as to bring more benefits to the two peoples. Song also introduced Xi Jinping thought on diplomacy of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era.
Leaders of Bangladeshi political parties noted that the Bangladeshi side firmly supports the Belt and Road Initiative and bilateral cooperation in various fields and speaks highly of Xi Jinping thought on diplomacy. General Secretary Xi Jinping's concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind is of great significance to maintaining world peace and development. The Bangladeshi parties hope to further deepen political party exchanges between the two countries and push for sustained, sound and stable development of Bangladesh-China relations.
