Beijing, December 3rd—Song Tao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with a delegation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of Nigeria head by Adams Oshiomhole, APC National Chairman.
Song said that in recent years, President Xi Jinping and President Muhammadu Buhari have maintained close exchanges and jointly pushed bilateral relations into the best period in history. China and Nigeria are major developing countries with great influence. To deepen friendly cooperation in various fields serves the fundamental interests of the two countries and the two peoples and is conducive to the peaceful development of Africa and the world at large. China is ready to work with Nigeria to jointly build the Belt and Road Initiative, implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), and make China-Nigeria cooperation a model of China-Africa cooperation to bring more benefits to the two peoples.
Song said that the CPC has established various forms of contacts with more than 600 political parties and political organizations in more than 160 countries and regions around the world. The official establishment of relations between the CPC and the APC is conducive to opening a new chapter of exchanges and cooperation between the two Parties. The CPC attaches great importance to relations with the APC, and is ready to take the opportunity of the formal establishment of relations between the two Parties to enhance political mutual trust, deepen the exchange of experience in party governance and state administration, and push for new progress in the relations between the two Parties and the two countries. Oshiomhole spoke highly of the great achievements China has made since the founding of the People’s Republic of China 70 years ago as well as the remarkable improvement of people's living standards. Nigeria thanks China for its long-term support for the economic and social development of Nigeriay, and is willing to carry out inter-party exchanges with the CPC, learn from the experience in party governance and state administration, improve the party's self-improvement and governance capacity, and push Nigeria-China strategic partnership to a new level.
