Beijing, May 21st—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, met here today with Busani Ngcaweni, Principal of the National School of Government of South Africa.
Liu said, under the personal care and planning of President Xi Jinping and President Cyril Ramaphosa, China-South Africa relations have maintained high-level development in recent years. The Chinese side is willing to work with the South African side to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, further consolidate traditional friendship, deepen political mutual trust, and take the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation as an opportunity to push for greater development of China-South Africa and China-Africa relations. The CPC stands ready to work with the African National Congress to strengthen strategic communication, enhance exchanges and mutual learning on topics such as capacity building and party governance, share experience in modernization, and jointly enhance governance capacity to better benefit the two countries and the two peoples.
Nkaveni spoke highly of the great achievements made by the Chinese people under the leadership of the CPC, saying that General Secretary Xi Jinping's visit to South Africa last year injected strong impetus into the development of bilateral relations, and the African National Congress is willing to enhance friendly exchanges with the CPC, strengthen exchanges of experience in state governance and administration, deepen cooperation in party building, theoretical research and other fields, strengthen multilateral coordination, and work together to tackle challenges and achieve common development.
