Beijing, July 22nd—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Hiroshi Moriyama, Chairperson of the General Council of the Liberal Democratic Party.
Liu said, last November, President Xi Jinping met with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in San Francisco, charting the course for the development of China-Japan relations. Inter-party exchanges play an important role in China-Japan relations. The CPC is willing to strengthen exchanges with the Liberal Democratic Party of Japan in various fields and at all levels, jointly hold the ninth meeting of the China-Japan Ruling Parties Exchange Mechanism, and promote the healthy and stable development of China-Japan relations. Not long ago, the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee was held in Beijing, which reviewed and adopted the Resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Further Deepening Reform Comprehensively to Advance Chinese Modernization. The Chinese side will improve high-level opening-up systems and mechanisms, and the Japanese side is welcome to actively participate in China's modernization process and achieve common development.
Hiroshi Moriyama said, when Minister Liu led a CPC delegation to visit Japan this May, the two sides reached the consensus on restarting the exchange mechanism between the ruling parties of Japan and China. The Liberal Democratic Party of Japan is ready to strengthen exchanges with the CPC, enhance mutual understanding, maintain communication on issues of common concern of the two countries, and jointly promote the development of the strategic relationship of mutual benefit between the two countries. Hiroshi Moriyama expressed condolences over the recent floods in Hunan and other places in China.
