Beijing, August 27th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Hun Many, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Civil Service Minister.
Liu noted, with the personal care and promotion of General Secretary Xi Jinping, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, exchanges at all levels between China and Cambodia have become closer, with continued expansion of practical cooperation and increasingly active people-to-people and cultural exchanges. The construction of China-Cambodia community with a shared future has entered a new stage of high-quality development. The Chinese side is willing to maintain close high-level exchanges with the Cambodian side, deepen strategic communication, strengthen exchanges of theoretical and practical experience in party governance and state administration, and enhance friendship and mutual trust between the youth of both countries through the Youth House for Cambodia-China Friendship. Efforts should be made to deepen practical cooperation across various fields within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, and push greater development of China-Cambodia relations and the construction of China-Cambodia community with a shared future in the new era.
Liu noted, under the leadership of President Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister Hun Manet led the new government to implement comprehensive policies and take proactive actions, demonstrating excellent governance capabilities and leadership, and establishing a sound image on the international and regional stages. The Chinese side will, as always, support Cambodia in pursuing a development path suited to its national conditions. In a world marked by intertwined changes and turmoil, the Chinese side is willing to work with the Cambodian side to implement the three global initiatives proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping, strengthen coordination and cooperation within multilateral frameworks such as ASEAN and the International Conference of Asian Political Parties, and jointly promote regional and global peace and development.
Hun Many said, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and China 66 years ago, cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful results, setting a fine example of state-to-state relations. We are delighted to see that in recent years, the leaders of the two countries have built on the solid foundation laid by the older generation of leaders for the development of Cambodia-China relations, advancing the relationship into a new phase of building a Cambodia-China community with a shared future. The seventh Cambodian government, led by Prime Minister Hun Manet, will steadfastly pursue the friendly policy of the CPP toward China, continuously deepening of Cambodia-China relations. The Cambodian side sincerely appreciates the selfless assistance of the Chinese side in safeguarding Cambodia’s sovereignty and promoting its economic and social development, as well as the valuable support provided in bilateral and multilateral arenas. The Cambodian side firmly adheres to the one-China principle and supports China’s position on the Taiwan question and issues related to Hong Kong, Xinjiang, and Xizang. The Cambodian side supports the Belt and Road Initiative and the three global initiatives proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping, and is ready to strengthen multilateral coordination and cooperation with the Chinese side to promote greater development of Cambodia-China relations.
