Liu Jianchao Meets with a Delegation of the Alliance of the Democratic Forces of Congo Party

Beijing, December 18th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with a delegation led by Modeste Bahati Lukwebo,  Leader of the Alliance of the Democratic Forces of Congo party and Second Vice-President of the Senate of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). 


Liu said, China and the DRC are good friends, good partners and good brothers. In the recent two years, President Xi Jinping and President Felix Tshisekedi have met twice and reached important consensus on developing bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. The people of both countries share the common pursuit of a better life. China is willing to work with the DRC to implement the important consensus of the two heads of state and the outcomes of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), firmly support each other, strengthen mutual learning, deepen practical cooperation, intensify multilateral coordination, jointly safeguard international fairness and justice, implement together the three major global initiatives, and promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.  

Liu said, the CPC share similar concepts and values with the Alliance of the Democratic Forces of Congo party. The CPC is ready to strengthen political dialogue and strategic communication, enhance political mutual trust, deepen exchanges and mutual learning of experience in state governance and administration, promote pragmatic cooperation and people-to-people and cultural exchanges through the "political party +" cooperation, walk together on the road to modernization, and push China-DRC comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership for long-term and steady development. 


Bahati said, the delegation just visited the Museum of the Communist Party of China and was impressed by the magnificent development journey of the CPC. The extraordinary achievements made by the Chinese people under the leadership of the CPC have deeply inspired the Alliance of the Democratic Forces of Congo party, and strengthened its confidence in the development and prosperity of the DRC. The two countries have traditional friendship. The DRC firmly supports China's policies and stances on the Taiwan question, etc., and thanks China for the valuable support and assistance. Chinese companies are welcome to invest and start businesses in the DRC. The DRC is willing to further strengthen practical cooperation between the two countries in economy, trade, resources, agriculture, and humanities. Both the Alliance of the Democratic Forces of Congo party and the CPC adhere to a people-centered approach and are willing to strengthen exchanges and dialogues between the two Parties, deepen exchanges and mutual learning of experience in party building and state governance, promote cooperation in party building and national modernization, achieve common development, and better benefit the two countries and peoples.
