Jakarta, January 17th—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Ahmad Muzani, Secretary General of the Great Indonesia Movement Party and Chairman of People’s Consultative Assembly of Indonesia, at the headquarters of the Great Indonesia Movement Party.
Liu said China and Indonesia are not only important development opportunities for each other but also close friends and partners. In 2024, President Xi Jinping and President Prabowo Subianto held two meetings, reaching the crucial consensus on building a community with a shared future with regional and global influence. As ruling parties, the CPC and the Great Indonesia Movement Party both bear the important responsibility of seeking development for respective countries and improving the well-being of the people. The CPC is willing to work with the Great Indonesia Movement Party to seize historical opportunities, implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen institutionalized exchanges, deepen exchanges at local level and youth exchanges, enhance cooperation in economy, trade, investment, and other sectors, and continue to deliver "small yet smart" livelihood projects through platforms such as the Silk Road Link to support the modernization of respective countries. Liu also shared the CPC's experience in strengthening its own construction and expressed the Chinese side's readiness to deepen experience exchanges in governance and administration with the Great Indonesia Movement Party.
Muzani warmly welcomed the CPC delegation to the headquarters of the Great Indonesia Movement Party, saying the Party values its relationship with the CPC, and said this visit is the latest example of the friendship between the two Parties. He said, despite a relatively remote location and modest facilities, it was here that General Chairman Prabowo Subianto formulated the policies for the country’s development and led the Party to victory. The Great Indonesia Movement Party admires the remarkable achievements that the Chinese people made under the leadership of the CPC, particularly in national construction and poverty alleviation, and hopes to learn from the CPC’s experiences to better contribute to Indonesia's development.
