Liu Jianchao Meets with Bakhtiyor Saidov, Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister

Tashkent, April 1st—Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Bakhtiyor Saidov, Uzbekistan's Foreign Minister.  


Liu said, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, China-Uzbekistan relations have become robust and enduring. China has embarked on a new journey of its modernization drive, and Uzbekistan is also committed to building a "New Uzbekistan". China is willing to follow the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, maintain high-level exchanges, strengthen exchanges and mutual learning of experience in state governance and administration, comprehensively improve cooperation, and work together to promote the modernization of respective countries. 

Liu expressed, China and Uzbekistan are both ancient civilizations and important countries in the region. China thanks Uzbekistan for its active support for the three major global initiatives and is ready to strengthen solidarity and coordination with Uzbekistan under the framework of the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and the China-Central Asia mechanism, to jointly respond to global challenges. China highly appreciates Uzbekistan's important role in maintaining and promoting regional peace and stability, and is willing to continue to deepen dialogue and cooperation with Uzbekistan and other Central Asian countries, enhance political mutual trust, achieve common development, and promote the building of a closer China-Central Asia community with a shared future. The CPC is willing to further strengthen institutional exchanges with major political parties of Uzbekistan, deepen exchanges of experience in party building and state governance, and strengthen dialogue and coordination on platforms such as the SCO Political Parties Forum and the China-Central Asia political parties dialogue. 


Saidov said, the friendship between the two heads of state is the foundation and guide of Uzbekistan-China cooperation. Uzbekistan cherishes its profound friendship with China. No matter how the international situation changes, Uzbekistan and China will always firmly support and help each other. Uzbekistan highly commends the CPC for leading the Chinese people to embark on a correct development path. China does not only stay committed to improving its own economic development, but also brings significant development dividends to the region and countries around the world. The Belt and Road Initiative proposed by China connects many countries, showing great development vitality and potential. Uzbekistan is willing to strengthen the connection between the "Uzbekistan-2030" strategy and the Belt and Road Initiative with China, and further deepen practical cooperation in various fields such as economy, society and culture. The CPC is the largest ruling party in the world and has rich experience in governing the country. Uzbekistan has benefited a lot from learning from China's successful reform and development experience. Uzbekistan supports all its political parties in strengthening dialogue and cooperation with the CPC, and is willing to work with China to establish a cooperation mechanism for political dialogue and capacity building. In the face of a complex and changing international landscape, Uzbekistan is willing to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation with China to jointly resist external risks and challenges. 

The two sides also had in-depth exchanges of views on international and regional issues. 

Yu Jun, Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Ilkhom Utkurovich Khaydarov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, and others were present.
