Tashkent, April 1st—Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan met here today with Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC).
Mirziyoyev asked Liu to convey his sincere greetings to President Xi Jinping, emphasizing that Uzbekistan and China are all-weather comprehensive strategic partners for a new era that have withstood the test of time. Uzbekistan is proud of its friendly relations and deep friendship with China, and is willing to enhance strategic alignment with China, deepen the Belt and Road cooperation, and promote practical cooperation in various fields such as economy, trade, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, education, and sub-national cooperation. Uzbekistan welcomes the opening of more Confucius Institutes and Luban Workshops in Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan believes that the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway is of great significance and will bring important development opportunities to Uzbekistan and other regional countries. The development concepts of China and Uzbekistan are similar. China has achieved remarkable accomplishments in poverty reduction, digitalization, industrialization, and anti-corruption. Uzbekistan attaches great importance to and has been learning from China's beneficial experiences, which is very important for Uzbekistan to better advance the reform process of building a "New Uzbekistan". Uzbekistan supports strengthening exchanges between the legislative bodies and political parties of the two countries to enhance mutual understanding and recognition and jointly contribute to the development of bilateral relations. Uzbekistan firmly adheres to the one-China principle and is willing to continue to work with China to jointly combat terrorist, extremist and separatist forces. The world today is undergoing major changes unseen in a century. Uzbekistan supports the three major global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping and is willing to strengthen unity and cooperation with China on international and regional affairs and jointly respond to regional and global challenges.
Liu conveyed President Xi Jinping's cordial greetings to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, stating that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, China-Uzbekistan relations have enjoyed continuous fruitful development over the years. The high mutual trust and deep friendship between the two heads of state are the most valuable political assets for both countries, providing us with goals and motivation. Both China and Uzbekistan adhere to a people-centered approach, uphold independence, and persist in reform and innovation. Both countries are committed to maintaining regional peace and stability. China is pleased with the remarkable achievements made by Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in its economic and social development. China is willing to work with Uzbekistan to deepen the alignment of development strategies and jointly advance modernization under the guidance of the important consensus reached by the two heads of state. The CPC maintains friendly relations with all major political parties in Uzbekistan. The IDCPC is willing to continue to play its role as an inter-party channel, strengthen institutionalized exchanges and dialogues with major political parties in Uzbekistan, deepen exchanges and mutual learning of experience in state governance and administration, and assist Uzbekistan in enhancing its capacity building. Liu introduced China's measures for further comprehensively deepening reforms and the CPC's efforts in comprehensively exercising rigorous governance over the Party.
Liu said, China highly appreciates President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's regional policy of openness and good-neighborliness that has played an important role in promoting regional peace and stability. China is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with Uzbekistan within multilateral frameworks such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the China-Central Asia mechanism, promote regional cooperation, jointly maintain regional peace, stability and prosperity, and advance the building of the China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future and the China-Central Asia community with a shared future.
