Beijing, October 16th—Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Ri Ryong Nam, Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to China.
Liu congratulated the DPRK on successfully holding the celebration marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK). He said, under the strategic guidance of General Secretary Xi Jinping and General Secretary Kim Jong Un, China-DPRK relations have entered a new historical period. Inter-party exchanges play an important leading role in the development of China-DPRK relations. The IDCPC is willing to strengthen communication and coordination with the International Department of the WPK Central Committee and the DPRK Embassy in China, implement the important consensus reached by the top leaders of the two Parties and the two countries, and make due contributions to serving the important exchanges between the two Parties, promoting exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and promoting the healthy and stable development of China-DPRK relations.
Ri Ryong Nam said, the recent series of exchanges and interactions between the top leaders of the two Parties and the two countries fully demonstrated the special friendship and unwavering mutual support between the DPRK and China. Further developing and enhancing the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries is the firm position of the WPK, the government and the people of the DPRK. The exchanges between the two Parties play an important role in bilateral relations. The International Department of the WPK Central Committee and the DPRK Embassy in China are willing to strengthen cooperation and communication with the IDCPC and spare no effort to promote the continuous development of the common cause of the two countries with socialism at the core.
