Beijing, November 4th—Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Massimo Ambrosetti, Italian Ambassador to China.

Liu said, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy 55 years ago, the two countries have always respected each other and treated each other as equals. In recent years, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and the leaders of Italy, the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Italy has maintained a high level of development. Inter-party exchanges are an important part of state-to-state relations. The CPC is willing to strengthen political dialogue with the main political parties of Italy, enhance mutual understanding and trust, and promote the continuous development of China-Italy and China-Europe relations, injecting more certainty and positive energy into the world. Not long ago, the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee was successfully held, emphasizing that China will continue to expand high-level opening up and welcomes all countries, including Italy, to share in China's development opportunities.
Massimo Ambrosetti said, Italy and China are both ancient civilizations. Under the promotion of the leaders of both sides, the current relations between the two countries are maintaining a good momentum of development. Italy is willing to strengthen constructive dialogue and exchanges with China, enhance political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation and people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and promote the continuous development of Italy-China and Europe-China relations, jointly promoting world peace and stability. Italy looks forward to gaining a deeper understanding of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, and the Italian Embassy in China will continue to support the dialogue and cooperation between political parties of Italy and China.
