Beijing, November 11th—Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with a delegation of the National Council of Slovakia led by Marian Kery, a member of the presidium of the Direction-Social Democracy and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Slovakia.

Liu said, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Robert Fico, China and Slovakia have established a strategic partnership and maintained a positive momentum of development in bilateral relations. The exchanges between the political parties of the two countries are an important part of the strategic partnership. The CPC is willing to work with all political parties in Slovakia to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, enhance exchanges at all levels, deepen the exchanges of experience in state governance and administration, and promote exchanges and cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and localities through inter-party channels to ensure the continuous, healthy and stable development of China-Slovakia and China-Europe relations. Liu introduced the spirit of the fourth plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. He said, the plenary session adopted the Recommendations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development, which has drawn a grand blueprint for the continuous advancement of Chinese modernization and sent a clear signal that China will continue to expand high-level opening up and share opportunities with other countries. China is willing to promote high-level practical cooperation with Slovakia to achieve mutual benefit and win-win development.
Kery said, since last year, Prime Minister Robert Fico and President Xi Jinping have met several times, leading to fruitful cooperation in various fields between Slovakia and China. Slovakia highly values its relations with China and firmly adheres to the one-China policy. It is willing to work with China to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and promote cooperation in economy, trade, investment, green energy, high-tech, automotive manufacturing, culture, education and other fields through parliamentary and party channels to promote greater development of the Slovakia-China strategic partnership. Slovakia and China share similar positions on many diplomatic and international hotspot issues, and Slovakia is willing to strengthen multilateral cooperation with China to jointly safeguard the UN Charter and the principles of international law.

Sun Haiyan, Vice-minister of the IDCPC, and members of the Direction-Social Democracy, the Countryside Party, the Slovak National Party, the Voice – Social Democracy and the Christian Democratic Movement of the National Council of Slovakia, as well as Milan Lajciak, Ambassador of Slovakia to China, attended the meeting.
