Liu Haixing Meets with a Delegation of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi of Tanzania

Beijing, March 27thLiu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with a delegation of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) of Tanzania led by Asha-Rose Migiro, Secretary-General of the CCM. 


Liu said, Tanzania is the destination of President Xi Jinpings first overseas visit after assuming the presidency in 2013, during which he put forward the principle of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith for Chinas Africa policy. Amid profound changes unseen in a century, China-Tanzania relations have developed into a model of solidarity and cooperation among the Global South for common development. The long-standing friendship between the CPC and the CCM has provided a strong political guarantee for the sound and steady development of bilateral relations. Under the new circumstances, the CPC stands ready to work with the CCM to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, further strengthen solidarity and cooperation, deepen exchanges and mutual learning of experience in party building and state governance, jointly enhance governing capacity and governance performance, and continuously enrich the China-Tanzania comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership. Liu also briefed the Tanzanian side on Chinas 15th Five-Year Plan and on the CPC's education campaign to help officials gain a correct understanding of what it means to perform well and act accordingly. 


Migiro said, the friendship between Tanzania and China enjoys a long history. Tanzania firmly adheres to the one-China principle and appreciates Chinas long-standing support and assistance. Tanzania stands ready to work with China to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and to continue advancing Tanzania-China relations and Africa-China relations. Tanzania highly commends the remarkable achievements of socialism with Chinese characteristics and closely follows Chinas 15th Five-Year Plan and its high-quality development measures. Chinas successful experience in poverty reduction, scientific and technological innovation, long-term planning, and social governance offers an important reference for Tanzania. The CCM is willing to further strengthen exchanges with the CPC at all levels, deepen exchanges and mutual learning of experience in party building and state governance, promote cooperation in areas such as youth and women, and continuously consolidate and develop the friendly relations between the two Parties and the two countries.
