Beijing, May 15th—Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC), met here today with Marcos Galvao, Brazilian Ambassador to China.

Liu said, China and Brazil are the two major developing countries and emerging markets in the Eastern and Western hemispheres, whose cooperation bears strategic and global implications transcending the bilateral scope. Under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Luiz Inacio Lula, China-Brazil relations have entered the best period in history. Inter-party exchanges constitute an important component of China-Brazil relations. The CPC stands ready to maintain friendly interactions with Brazilian political parties, jointly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, deepen exchanges and mutual learning of experience in state governance and administration, strengthen cooperation such as the Belt and Road cooperation, promote people-to-people and cultural engagement, and promote greater progress of China-Brazil relations.
Galvao said, against the backdrop of a complex and volatile international landscape and in-depth development of world multipolarity, the importance and influence of Brazil-China relations have become increasingly prominent. Brazil is ready to work with China to fully implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, maintain close high-level exchanges, and deepen strategic communication and practical cooperation. China has become Brazil’s largest trading partner, and Chinese enterprises are welcome to invest and start businesses in Brazil to boost its development and revitalization. The Brazilian Embassy in China is willing to keep close ties with the IDCPC to advance inter-party exchanges between the two sides.
The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
